McCarthy’s Meat Market, a family company located in Cork City and an existing client, recently expanded their operation significantly by moving into a much larger food production facility. Whilst the new premises had previously been a food production facility, it lacked any integrated cleaning equipment. McCarthy’s already have a LEVO Washdown Station in their existing facility, so contacted us again for their new premises.
The facility had an existing hot water supply and several hot water drop points. The layout of the facility meant that a single LEVO Food Production Washdown Station with a 30 metre anti-microbial hose on a retractable reel was sufficient to reach all the food processing areas that required daily washdown, with an integrated booster pump allowing up to 6 bar rinsing pressure, and a control knob and quick-release nozzles allowing easy switching between rinsing and foaming. We also fitted a lockable chemical barrel cage and all components were food-grade.
We also fitted a wall mounted pressure washer unit at the loading bay – allowing the client to clean his vehicles and the bay. This power washer included an industrial motor and pump with auto-stop, a 20 metre high pressure retractable hose reel and low pressure chemical application.
LEVO Food Production Washdown Station Improvements:
The install provides the customer with highly effective washdown and cleaning equipment for his daily cleaning process; keeping cleaning times, energy consumption and water use to a minimum.
The LEVO Food Production Washdown Station is designed to have as little infrastructural impact as possible. It has a footprint of around 1.0m², and only requires a water supply and an electrical supply to operate. Install times typically range from 2 to 4 hours.
The customer reported that the swab tests taken around his previous facility in which a LEVO is being used had far exceeded the required hygiene standards set by the local authority. Therefore, a second LEVO for his new facility was an easy choice to make.
