LEVO Washdown Station Case Study 1

McCarthy’s Meat Market, a family owned butcher located in Cork City, contacted us with queries on how to improve the post-shift cleaning process and washdown equipment of their food production facility. The company had been using both a mains and hot water supply through a hose to clean down surfaces with only low pressure (2 bar) and hand held spray bottles to spray disinfectant and cleaning chemicals. The cleaning process was highly time consuming.

We proposed a LEVO Washdown Station that would use the existing power and water supplies. It provides a much higher rinsing pressure and the ability to spray foam on the same system via a selector knob. Other important factors were that the system took up as little floor space as possible, and was simple to use. All components were made of stainless steel and the hoses are food-grade and non-marking.

LEVO Washdown Station Improvements:

The improvements to the customer’s cleaning process and operating costs were as follows:

  1. Significantly reduced cleaning times and labour costs
  2. Higher pressure means a reduction in water usage for the cleaning process due to the increased cleaning impact (kg/force)
  3. Higher quality chemical application via foaming equipment
  4. Self-contained unit with automatic hose reel means entire cleaning system is located in one position, with minimal footprint
